herokuのheroku-postgresqlを利用していますが、
無料プランだと10,000行の制限があります。
10,000行は、設計にもよりますが、あっという間に到達してしまいます。
到達したらどうなるかが前から気になっていたので調べてみました。
列数が限界の8割近くになると、Heroku Notificationsからメールが届きました。内容の一部です。
The database contains 7,973 rows. The Hobby-dev plan allows a maximum of 10,000 rows. If the databases exceeds 10,000 rows then INSERT privileges will be revoked, preventing more data from being written. INSERT privileges are automatically reinstated if rows are removed and the database once again complies with the plan limit.
そして、制限を超えてしまうと、再びメールが届きます。内容の一部は以下で、何かアクションが必要ということでした。
The database contains 10,051 rows, exceeding the Hobby-dev plan limit of 10,000. INSERT privileges to the database will be automatically revoked in 7 days. This will cause service failures in most applications dependent on this database.
すべきアクションは2通り。
Hobby Basic ($9/month)プランなど、上位プランに切り替える- DBの列数を
10,000行以内に減らす
自分の場合は、すでに、mLab MongoDBを並行して動かしていたので、行ったアクションは後者でした。
